EXXONMOBIL 2019
In this early performance staged in the artist’s Gowanus studio, a body masked in neon orange cellophane drinks Mountain Dew, urinates into a bucket, and waters a plant with soda beneath a found ExxonMobil sign. Through fluids, risk, and absurd rituals of survival, the work queers the line between nourishment and toxicity, pleasure and waste, staging the leaking body as both abject and resistant.
