THIS CITY HAS CHANGED
2021
A shed transformed into a dark room, inspired by the architectures of cruising and their atmospheres of secrecy, repetition, and compulsion. Inside, “open for business” signs glow against flashing, unsynchronized lights, suggesting a space that never closes. Made in the aftermath of COVID-19 lockdowns, the work reimagines the darkroom as a queer site of endurance, disorientation, and persistence—where desire continues even as the city itself shifts, fragments, and remakes its rhythms.
