PINK TRIANGLE PERFORMANCE
2017
A gesture-based performance in which the artist is tied to a weight (a cinderblock) while tracing the outline of a triangle. The action recalls the pink triangle, first imposed in Nazi concentration camps to mark homosexuals, and later reclaimed as a potent emblem of queer visibility, resistance, and survival. Developed after a period of research in Berlin, the work reflects on how symbols of oppression can be reactivated in performance, made to register both their violent origins and their enduring capacity to anchor queer identity and collective memory.
